Dial up, a new job and other excuses

I want to thank everyone who has been reading my blog and offer my apologies - and excuses - as to why I haven't been returning the favor recently.

1) The new job is sucking away my free time. No, it hasn't been a lot of overtime, I just need to get reacquainted with working again. I am still enjoying it - it's not near as nice as being unemployed, but working pays better. It is making the week go a lot faster which means our chance to cycle will get here sooner. Sadly, it also means I haven't had more than a few minutes each evening to get on the net.

2) We still have dial up. Sometimes I load 3-4 blogs and then walk away for a few minutes (if my husband isn't around to steal the computer) Sometimes I will keep clicking from page to page waiting for one of them to show some text. I will think of all kinds of things I want to comment and will load those comment pages . . . only to lose track of what I wanted to say to whom. Obviously, I have done it in the past, it just takes hours and I haven't had that lately.

3) I haven't been sleeping well (warm at night and a lot on my mind) so I am tired and grumpy. I try not to leave grumpy posts.

The good news is that I will get used to working again and organizing my free time better, we are getting high speed this weekend (yeah!!!) and after the visit with my RE, I have felt a bit more peaceful and (hopefully) will start sleeping better.

I hope this weekend will be the chance I need to get catch up with everyone.

Isn't it odd that we cram 40 hours of work into 5 days...yet we try to cram 48 in two days for rest and relaxation? Then of those 48 we spend a minimum of 16 sleeping? Whom ever came up with this work thing needs to be shot!

You are going to love high speed!! I had dialup forever I think I was one of the last ones to get high speed and what a difference - now I have to get my parents on board at their house....they still have dialup too. Glad things are getting a little better for you. :)

Glad to hear that you still like your new job. Also, you have the patience of Job if you are still muddling through with dial-up.

I'm sorry it's been a while since I commented. When I added you to my blogroll, I stupidly linked to a specific post in June. So it just kept showing me that one. Today, I realized I hadn't yet added you to my feeds in bloglines and that's when I discovered all the newer posts. Grrr!! While I was at it, I went ahead and started at the very beginning, and have now read all of your posts.

I am humbled by your perserverance, your writing abilities, and most of all your honesty. I am truly in awe of you, I hope that at least every now and then you realize what an amazing person you are (or at least that I've built you up to be in my mind!). You have made an enormous difference in my attitude tonight, I can't thank you enough for sharing all that you have.

This is a crazy, twisted, and emotionally exhausting road on which we are travelling. Please know that I'll be here virtually for you every step of the way.
